Eileen Murray MD FRCPC

Dr. Eileen Murray is a clinical dermatologist, and practiced at the Winnipeg Clinic for 30 years. She received her MD from the University of Manitoba and did her residency in dermatology at McGill University. She was Professor and Section Head of Pediatric Dermatology in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Manitoba and is now Adjunct Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science at the University of British Columbia.

Her extensive practical experience and large collection of clinical images form the basis for the content of this program. She has been motivated by her teaching experience to provide a more comprehensive and easy to use educational resource for primary caregivers who, due to limited time and resources during their training, may have had minimal dermatological experience to prepare them for patient care. A quick and accurate diagnosis is critical for the peace of mind of both the physician and patient.

Dr. Murray has served on the Executive Council of the Winnipeg Clinic, the Board of Directors of both the Canadian Dermatology Foundation and the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA), for which she was also Secretary-Treasurer. She is presently a member of the Sun Awareness Committee. She served two terms as the Prairie Region Representative on the Board of Directors of the CDA and was a member of the Education Committee. She was coordinator of the dermatology curriculum for the Manitoba Telehealth Video Conferencing Educational Program for rural and northern physicians.

Both her undergraduate and postgraduate students have honored her several times for excellence in teaching.

In addition to developing this program, Dr. Murray has numerous abstracts and 16 publications. She served as an expert consultant for the pharmaceutical industry and participated in clinical research evaluating new therapies for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
